The GIS after school program has been awarded an ASES grant. The ASES grant will increase the quality of our after school program for our staff and students alike. The ASES after school program will begin on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. It is open from 3:00pm-6:00pm Monday-Thursday and 12:30pm-6:00pm on Fridays and other minimum days. If you have any questions, please contact our ASES Supervisor, Mr. Derek Vasquez (916) 870-2624.

What is ASES?

ASES (or After School Education and safety) is a grant for after school Programs which requires three main components, an Academic, enrichment and homework time. In order to get the full benefits of the program: Students must participate in the entire program each day, and students must attend every day, Monday-Friday.

Students may only be picked up early with a signed Early Release Form for acceptable reasons.  (The attendance and early release policy is included in the application.)

Participation in the ASES after-school program is a privilege. Students are expected to follow all Gateway International school rules in the after-school program. Students who are sent to the after-school program supervisor for not following the school rules will receive two (2) warnings in writing (violation notice) to be signed by the parent and the program supervisor. A third write-up will result in dismissal from the program. Disruptive, disrespectful or aggressive behavior may result in immediate dismissal from the program.
